Words can not express the loss you must be feeling at this time. I would like to share some comforting thoughts with you and your family. I am a spiritual person and in times of loss I look to the scriptures for comfort and hope. Such scriptures as the one found at Ecclesiastes 9:5,10, which helps me to see that my loved one is no longer in pain and doesn't even know that they have died. " They are conscious of nothing at all". They are simply in "Sheol"(the common grave)as if they where sleeping. But what about the future? Will I or you ever see our loved ones again? Isaiah 26:19 tells us that "Your dead ones will live again" and Acts 24:15 says "There is going to be a resurrection of both the righteous and the unrighteous" This resurrection will be done right here on earth! We have evidence of this in Lazarus and 2 others mentioned in the Bible. There are many other scriptures that give such a hope for the future. Craig, Melissa and Hunter-Emily lives on in each person that she touched. We will always have a happy smiling face in our minds. Now she can rest and fly with the angels. I want to thank you for sharing your story about the battle that Emily fought so hard. Although I didn't know Emily, I am touched by her story. I am sitting here in tears at my desk at work looking at the pictures and reading all the comments everyone has left. I have a son 3 months younger than Emily who attends Waterfords Donelson Hills Elementary, and a daughter who just turned 2 in January. Dear Schmidt Family: My name is Joshua McIntosh. I am a missionary in Senegal, West Africa. I think you know my grandmother, Shirley McIntosh-Shuran. She told me about Emily and asked that I would pray for her. I don't think she told me how she met you and Emily, but it was obviously that Emily and her family made an impact one her. Enough for her to ask me to pray for her and the family. She also asked me to write on this blog for her, my grandmother that is. She doesn't have a computer. Well, I didn't get around to it until now, and unfortunately, my grandmother passed away suddenly on February 15. I saw something on the news about the Cut-A-Thon to raise money for Emily and it reminded of the promise I made to my grandmother to write on here. So, this is in her name.
